My name is Gloria. Welcome to Tiny Taj [ Music ]. Thank you. Before I moved into this tiny house. I was living in a house that was about almost 1800 square feet. I didn\\\’t lose a whole lot of the house, and so I started to figure out.
I don\\\’t really need this much space. I had my house built by incredible tiny homes. I accidentally landed on a video of Randy\\\’s. I just kept following him and started getting interested and started dreaming of designs.
I designed this tiny house to every one of my likings. I chose just what I needed just what I used every day in the big house, there\\\’s nowhere in this house that you feel cramped nowhere. I also landed one of the incredible tiny homes original deals where I got two years free rent when my two years are over I\\\’ll pay 200 a month after that I pay 25 a month for water, and I pay my own electric compared to what I was Paying in California it\\\’s a drop in the bucket [ Music ].
This is my brand new tiny house. The original house is 10 by 32, so it\\\’s pretty roomy, but there were some pieces of furniture. I just did not want to leave behind. I added a sun porch, which is 12×21 just to suit that furniture, [ Music, ] foreign [ Music ].
Here we have where I spend most of my time. This is where I watch my tiny house videos, my cooking videos movie night. Every morning. My friends come by about 8 30 9 o\\\’clock and we have coffee until 10.
30.. Sometimes we end up at cocktail hour in the evening too. It\\\’S just a great place to meet up. I had this sun porch built specifically so that I could have all this furniture that I didn\\\’t want to leave behind.
It\\\’S so comfortable. It makes for good living just because you\\\’re going tiny doesn\\\’t mean you can\\\’t have good living this chair here is amazing. You\\\’Ll never want to get out of that chair ever again and the couch is holding my two babies, the little white one, that\\\’s Belle and that\\\’s buddy.
I live alone so having these two by my side, nothing like it when you own a dog and they are so loving, unconditional love, they\\\’re, just comfort that you just can\\\’t get anywhere now. Here we have my Christmas tree, who I lovingly call my lady.
I got a dress form, I got a petticoat form and then I wired the Garland to it and decorated it on my own. I love it and so does everyone else who\\\’s seen it. I\\\’Ve decided I\\\’m going to keep it all year, I\\\’ll decorate her for Halloween, Easter she\\\’s, going to turn out to be a fun accessory for my living room, and then here you know a girl has to have her shoes.
So here it\\\’s my shoe rack. Okay! Out of the way very unobtrusive but hides every bit of my shoes, I\\\’ve only got 12 that are in there. There\\\’S a couple texts somewhere else. Follow me I\\\’ll show you, the original tiny house we\\\’ll leave.
The sun portion go inside [, Music, ]. Okay, welcome to the inside of my tiny house, [ Music ]. Behind me. We have my bed area. I\\\’Ve got a fireplace. I\\\’Ve got a queen size bed and behind the curtains, is a 5×5 picture window, [, Music, ].
On this side, I\\\’ve got what\\\’s known as a Randy rack pulls out. So I keep all my food for cooking. I\\\’Ve got two of those and then under the bed. I\\\’Ve got two drawers that are three foot wide: five foot, deep, that I keep canned goods and things that I\\\’m cooking then over here I have some food storage different things I want to keep on hand up here on.
The other side is where I keep. I like to can food, so I keep like. I made some green salsa for my garden. I love these big jars. It\\\’S where I keep everything that I use all the time, my sugars, my oats.
It comes in really handy in my coffee bar and, of course, my mints for my chocolate friend of mine just bought me a whole bunch of these thanks Tula. Here I keep all my pots and pans. I didn\\\’t want to take up a lot of room pots and pans are so deep, and so I just put some artificial wood up there and hung my knives in my pots and pans, and it just really made a lot of room a lot of space.
For me and right here I have Bal and Buddy. My son did these watercolors for me, he\\\’s an artist he lives in New York. Okay, let\\\’s check out my kitchen, we\\\’ll start by showing you my hot tub. Oh I mean my kitchen sink.
It\\\’S actually big enough for a hot tub. I I like big farm sinks, and this was the biggest one that I could fit in here. It\\\’S made of crushed granite, I love it and then I do a lot of cooking, but I don\\\’t have a cooktop.
I use induction cooktop I\\\’ll, set my instant pot here, my cooktop. I have also a gas cooktop [ Music ]. When I\\\’m done, I put it away in the storage. That\\\’S in the sun, porch works out fantastic and then I, of course I\\\’ve got a dishwasher.
Girls got to have her dishwasher put a shelf up there, because when I\\\’m emptying the dishwasher, I used to have to go all the way across and put them away in the cabinets, and I decided nope. I want them right there.
I saw it in somebody else\\\’s house and I really like the idea – and this is where I keep my Berkey Water Filter. I had to have my pot filler right here, because now I don\\\’t have to move it or I don\\\’t have to bring a pitcher just open.
It fill it up easy that I have a full-size refrigerator and freezer. I would open it, but you\\\’d cringe it\\\’s jam-packed for one person, but I do cook a lot and I have friends over all the time to eat. I mean I cook a lot here.
Are my seasonings. I\\\’Ve got one drawer here. This ottoman is full of bulk seasonings. I like food, I haven\\\’t met a food, yet I didn\\\’t like now above me, is a special ladder built for me. It was a prototype it hooks up here on the wall.
If you use the right amount of pulleys, it\\\’s very easy foreign. I got it set just right that it just misses the chair. It\\\’S just strictly a storage Loft for things that I don\\\’t use every day, [, Music ].
I have a full-size washer and dryer. They were side by side on pedestals, but I just attached a stacking kit and they became stackables. I converted them to propane in these cubes here. That\\\’S where I keep all my bathroom items and then I have an LED mirror: it\\\’s very nice.
Now this is a closet area where I was living in California. I measured my closet. I didn\\\’t want to have to throw away a bunch of clothes, so I measured it and I had them build exactly what I had so I have this cubicles with baskets.
That\\\’S why I keep all my pants folded up, keep all my things in here. I use it for hanging clothes. I have got drawers at the bottom for other clothes when I do the laundry which I just got done doing.
I have my hangers out. Okay, now we\\\’ll step into my shower, everybody wants to go in the shower. This is a four by six foot. Walk-In shower extremely luxurious. You can\\\’t have anything better. It\\\’S really nice! The water doesn\\\’t go out into the other room because of the length of the wall.
So you don\\\’t have any issues with fogging up your mirror. I\\\’Ve got a Japanese soaking tub in the corner here that you just inflate it set it over the drain. You can soak as long as you want and then just release it to the drain.
I\\\’Ve got a little four inch lip on the doorway, so the water never goes out anywhere. This is just amazing. The walls are 12 by 24 ceramic tiles Poly on the ceiling, that\\\’s the bottom of the Loft up above and the window.
If you really needed to let in any air or let out any condensation, you could do it there, but I don\\\’t really do that much, because that handles way too high. For me, and now I\\\’ll show you the bathroom area, I\\\’ve got a separate door and this would be the bathroom area, and this is where my tankless water heater hides.
I believe this bathroom is probably three by four: it\\\’s just enough that you\\\’re not too tight and that you\\\’re not wasting extra space. Now we can go into my garden, which is my own little Paradise. I created for myself these tubs along this perimeter of my lot here.
That\\\’S where I do all my gardening. Here\\\’S where I grow my herbs, because it\\\’s closest to the door, My Rosemary, my mint, my Thyme and this tab. I was growing four different kinds of tomatoes. I had yellow tomatoes Romas, it was great got Tomatoes all summer, I\\\’m also into Wildlife.
So I\\\’ve got my resident rabbit. He has his own Outhouse, so he doesn\\\’t disturb things. These up here are emerald, green arborvitaes and then in the very corner, is a white dogwood. I\\\’Ve got a patio back here for barbecuing things like that.
If it gets too sunny, we just pull down the big Shades and it blocks it all. It\\\’S a great hangout place: [, Music, ], and now here I created a dog pen specifically for my dogs to keep them safe. We have coyotes in the area across the street.
There\\\’S Bears there\\\’s mountain lions. I don\\\’t want anything to happen to my dogs, so they can go from the house down the ramp I built and come outside and do their business whenever they want to back and forth so they really enjoy that they go in and out all the time.
There\\\’S. My one it watches he watches for where I\\\’m at when I\\\’m coming home, and then he runs out here to make sure that I\\\’m coming in foreign going tiny. It was mostly about affordability to me, I\\\’m 72, I\\\’m on fixed income.
I can\\\’t afford to buy a big house and live that grand life when I can have all those same things on a smaller scale, with only the rooms. I need one of the other positive things about going tiny for me is the community environment once I retired.
If I was not working, I rarely saw anyone at all here. It\\\’S very Community oriented that\\\’s what it\\\’s all about foreign thanks for watching this week\\\’s video.
